DECK BOATS

I define a "DECK BOAT" as a boat with a higher ratio of open deck area and a higher passenger capacity than their cousin, the "RUNABOUT". In my opinion the deck boat segment should register the strongest growth over the next few years of any boat category. Here's why:

Deck boats are not a design gimmick, they are one of the most practical small pleasure boats available today. They are not a slug – they perform like a runabout. They are not overpriced – they cost about the same as other boats the same size. They are not limited to flat water ponds – they come in all sizes and water condition capabilities.

I believe that a deck boat is to the marine industry, what a sports utility vehicle is to the automotive industry. And we all know how popular SUV's have become in recent years.
